Play The Beautiful Game

MID-WEEK TRAINING AND MATCHES ON WEEKENDS.

It’s the nations favourite sport for a reason. Each season thousands of people throughout Oxfordshire alone come together to play 11v11 football every week; a constant reminder of why we all love the beautiful game!

If the traditional version of the game is for you, then you've come to the right place.

As long as you're 16+ and want to play we're sure we've got the right opportunities for you to get started.

With over 250 men's teams and over 30 female teams playing regularly across Oxfordshire, there'll never be a better time to pull on your boots and get involved.

From the Premier League & FA Women's Super League, to the grassroots game, you'll find yourself playing on full size pitches, with full size goals on Saturdays or Sundays - depending on the league you play in!

This will vary on the team and club – on average match subs will be around £5 and you will be need to pay weekly for training and again this will vary.

When you contact your local team, we suggest including this question so are aware before turning up.

The time commitment will vary but on average a 2/3 hours on matchdays and an hour for mid-week training.

Depending on the league the team plays in will impact the distance of travel.

Grassroots adult male leagues (Witney & District League and Banbury District & Lord Jersey) footprints are on a district level and the Oxfordshire Senior Football League is countywide.

The women’s league (Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League) is across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties.

There are very little differences in terms of the rules and structure of U17/U18 football to adult provision.

In our youth consultation, a key theme was that it is seen to be more physical. However, many said they quickly got used to the change in physicality and some said they felt there were little differences.

If you have any worries, we suggest getting involved in a local adult team training session as a taster to give it a go!
