Training & Workshops

Developing your existing skills or learning new ones is an integral part of being a referee

We believe in the importance of regular training and development opportunities. We offer a number of free workshops and practical training sessions dedicated to your personal development.

As a referee its important to stay on top of your game and so our FA qualified coaches and tutors are on hand to provide you all the necessary training and support you require to help you and the players enjoy the match day experience.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Basic Referees Course

This course is ideally suited to those wanting to become a referee involved in the 11 a side game both in Youth and Adult football.

It aims provide an introduction to the laws of the game as well as developing the practical skills required to be a football referee.

Venue: The Oxford Academy, OX4 6JZ
Dates: Thursday 26th January (6:30pm-9:30pm) & Saturday 28th January (9:15am-5pm)
Price: £135

Generally, no. However, certain courses, such as the Referee Observers require a certain level of experience.

We are always looking for qualified referees to help coach and support our young referees. If this is something you are interested in, please get in touch.
 
Young referees are usually invited to join the Referee Academy. However, if you're a young referee and interested in the support the academy provides, get in touch with us to discuss your options.

We're committed to the development of new referees and our Referee Academy is just one of the ways we try to achieve this.

The Academy operates in conjunction with the Oxford United FC (OUFC) Centre of Excellence (CoE) which plays games in the Under 9 to Under 15 age groups every Sunday throughout the season at the Oxford Community School in Cowley.
