U18s League

The Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League is host to twelve U18 teams from Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & other neighbouring counties.
The league itself is split into North and South divisions where each team play each-other twice throughout the season on Saturday mornings. Alongside the league the teams also have the opportunity to take part in the U18 League cup which is a knock-out format.
The U18 league was founded in 2011 with 8 teams entering and has grown in popularity over the past 5 seasons. It acts as a great stepping-stone for grass-roots players to progress into the women’s game.
Talent Development
Oxford United Women's Regional Talent Club (RTC) provides the county with a professional development programme for talented girls from U6 all the way to adult 11v11. Alongside structured training sessions, the girls play weekly fixtures against other RTCs around the country and are coached by experienced FA qualified coaches. Founded in 2007 the programme has seen many success stories and looks to nurture local talent in the hope that they eventually progress into one of two Women's sides.
The Women's sides currently play in the WSL 2 and WSL development leagues amongst the likes of Chelsea, Reading & Everton. The WSL 2 is the 2nd tier of Women's football in the country and is a great level to aspire to for all of the young girls within the programme.
We have a number of women’s clubs in Oxfordshire providing football for players aged 16+ with regular midweek training and matches on Sunday afternoons.
The entry level for adult teams is through the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League. The league also provides an opportunity for teams at the U18 level as well, providing an appropriate pathway from youth football to adult football. The U18 divisions play on a Saturday morning.
