New Home Improvement Group Become Joe Roughton U18 Youth Cup Sponsors

Our Joe Roughton U18 Youth Cup has a new title sponsor

Oxfordshire FA is excited to announce New Home Improvement Group as the new title sponsors of the Joe Roughton Under-18 Youth Cup, which is now to be known as the Joe Roughton Under-18 Youth Cup, sponsored by New Home Improvement Group.

New Home Improvement Group, based in Wallingford, specialise in high-quality, cost-effective extensions, building projects, landscaping, driveways, patios, garden and veranda rooms and offices. They can install new fitted kitchens for football clubhouses and outdoor kitchens – all under one roof, without the hassle usually associated with multiple contractors.

Alongside their work delivering excellent results for customers, New Home Improvement Group pride themselves in the work they do in the community – something that is closely aligned as a core value of Oxfordshire FA.

New Home Improvement support Nai’s House Mental Health Support for Young People; a cause of particular mutual interest to Oxfordshire FA, as we work to provide awareness of mental health support available to our grassroots football community. Nai’s House provides holistic mental health support to young people, parents and carers in Bicester and Oxfordshire who may be looking for counselling and advice on suicide prevention and intervention.

Darren Field, Group Managing Director of New Home improvement Group, said: "As a keen supporter of the game in the county we are delighted to become sponsors of the Joe Roughton Under-18 Youth Cup and look forward to working even closer within the local grassroots football community in Oxfordshire."

Jonathan Duckworth, Chief Executive Officer of Oxfordshire FA, said: “2024 sees the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the Oxfordshire Football Association. We treasure that proud heritage and are driving the inclusive and sustainable future growth of grassroots football throughout Oxfordshire for the benefit of everyone in our local community. We are delighted to welcome the New Home Improvement Group to our team of prestigious County Cup competition sponsors and are excited to work with them in achieving these goals.”

The Joe Roughton U18 Youth Cup is named after Joe Roughton, from Chipping Norton, who was elected to our council in 1958 and served for 20 years before becoming Vice Chair, Chair, Vice Life-President and then President. He sadly passed away in 2000, with the U18 Youth Cup named in his honour soon after. First contested in 1936/37, the current holders are Mansfield Road Juniors, who won the trophy for the first time in 2023 after beating Oxford City Royals 4-1 in the final.

The semi-finals of the competition take place on Sunday 25 February, as Eynsham Association U18s entertain Bullingdon Youth U18 Warriors (1.30pm KO), and AFC Henley U17 Hurricanes welcome holders Mansfield Road Juniors U18s (1.30pm KO).
