Meet Oxfordshire FA's Inclusion Advisory Group

Our IAG will work to increase our awareness, understanding and knowledge of inclusion, equality and diversity

Oxfordshire FA is delighted to confirm its Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG) for the 2023/24 season, which will work to increase awareness, understanding and knowledge of inclusion, equality and diversity (EDI).

This awareness will enable Oxfordshire FA to better meet the needs of all of our communities that would like to take part in football, or already involved in football, and ultimately our business.

Our IAG is made up with individuals possessing relevant expertise and knowledge that relates to EDI, and represent diverse backgrounds and communities. Some have footballing backgrounds, whether it be grassroots or beyond, while others take up membership based on their experiences outside of the game.

What unites all of our members is the vision of football being for all in Oxfordshire, whether that be through coaching, playing, refereeing, volunteering or supporting.

Michael Thurlow, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead at Oxfordshire FA, said: “It’s a very exciting time for Oxfordshire FA as we commence the 2023/24 season. We firmly believe that football in our county should be for all, and our Inclusion Advisory Group will provide invaluable insight and education into how we can better serve our diverse communities, to enable them to enjoy and prosper in football. As a County FA, we’re all looking forward to working with our IAG members and creating more opportunities for people from all backgrounds to enjoy the beautiful game.”

Our IAG will meet for the first time this season on 12 October, with the group meeting throughout the course of 2023/24.
