We are delighted to launch our OFA Coach Development Programme for 2023-24.

We are delighted to launch our OFA Coach Development Programme for 2023-24.

This programme is designed for those at every stage of their coaching journey; whether you are just starting out or looking to focus on developing your passion and knowledge. We will be delivering sessions as part of our ‘Development Series’, UEFA C and B Series’ along with supporting female coaches and focusing on areas of inclusion across the county.

These events are just the start of our Coach CPD Programme that will run throughout the course of the season with details of further events coming soon.

These events will bring coaches across the county together to enhance the knowledge they obtain and to network and learn from each other. We hope to see you at an event soon!

Attacking Principles of Play and Finishing

When: Monday 4th September 2023 (6:30pm – 8:30pm)
Where: Oxford City FC, Marsh Lane., Marston, Oxford OX3 0NQ

This workshop will delve into the attacking principles of play and look at how we can develop a range of different finishing techniques with your players. We will explore how Small-Sided Games can be used effectively to develop a desire for all players to be involved in attacking.

Developing Skilful Players

When: Tuesday 12th September 2023 (6:30pm - 8:30pm)
Where: Witney ATP, Gordon Way, Witney, Oxfordshire OX28 4EH

The developing skilful players workshops will support coaches to understand components of being skilful and the FA’s approach to developing skilful players. It will provide holistic understanding of elements that contribute to the development of skilful players along with some practical ideas for coaches to take away.

Incorporating Goalkeepers - UEFA C/B Series

When: Wednesday 27th September 2023 (7pm-9pm)
Where: Whitelands Farm, Whitelands Way, Bicester, OX26 1AJ

The workshop will focus on the goalkeeper in play with their team, through the lens of a small-sided game. There will be emphasis on their role as part of the defensive unit when defending and the importance of the goalkeeper in providing opportunity for counter attacking as they transition from defence to attack.

Benefits of Small-Sided Games

When: Wednesday 4th October 2023 (6:30pm-8:30pm)
Where: Thame United FC, Meadow view park, Tythrop Way, Thame, OX9 3RN

This workshop is designed for grassroots coaches to provide training and guidance on the concept of small-sided games, their benefits and application in grassroots football. The workshop will explore how to use small-sided games to engage and develop players. It will be designed to demonstrate the benefits for all ages.
