New Coach Mentors appointed to support female coach development

Oxfordshire FA are delighted to introduce two new Coach Mentors who will work with female coaches to support their development.

Katie Wales and Mark Haining will be supporting female coaches throughout the season as we continue to provide development opportunities to increase coaching levels in the county.

Experienced coaches, both Katie and Mark have years of experience across a multitude of coaching environments, and so will be able to offer coaches support from the smallest, to the biggest, challenges.

Female Coaches will be able to have one of our mentors visit their session and provide on the grass hints and tips, and offer further thoughts on development courses where appropriate.

James Shiplee, Senior Football Development Officer, said: “We’re delighted to have Katie and Mark available to support our female coaches. As we continue to develop the female game, it’s important to recognise how important female coaches are to our girls’ teams, but also how important it is we showcase and normalise women in coaching. I have no doubt that Katie and Mark will be an invaluable addition to our team.”

If you’re a female coach who would like some support from Katie or Mark, please fill out our expression of interest form.
