Girls come together to celebrate the start of UEFA Women's EURO 2022

Wildcat centre participants from across the county recently took part in a festival delivered by Oxfordshire FA Youth Leadership Team.

OVER 50 GIRLS AGED 7-11 FROM ACROSS THE COUNTY RECENTLY PARTICIPATED IN A WEUROS WILDCATS FESTIVAL THAT WAS PLANNED AND DELIVERED BY OUR OXFORDSHIRE FA YOUTH LEADERSHIP TEAM.

The Youth Leadership Team's aim was to provide a fun day of football to celebrate the start of the UEFA Women’s EURO competition. The girls that attended had great fun participating in a series of friendly games and fun activities.

For many of the girls, this was their first time playing football with players outside of their Wildcats’ sessions, so it was a great experience for everyone.

Throughout the event, attendees gave their messages of good luck to the England Women’s National Team as they embarked on the competition.

Andrew Hunt, Chairperson of Oxfordshire FA Youth Leadership Team said “It was fantastic to see so many girls attend and have smiles on their faces throughout the event. We hope the festival will raise further awareness and will inspire more girls to get into football in 2022. The Oxfordshire FA Youth Leadership Team are already looking forward to delivering similar events in the future”
