As part of the FA drive to make all courses more convenient for candidates and in response to Covid restrictions, The FA have moved away from face-to-face training (except for the Referee Course and FA Level 3 [UEFA B]) and have produced a new and exciting suite of online courses which includes a revamped Introduction to Coaching Football (replacing FA Level 1) course and new Safeguarding and Emergency Aid courses. 

Whilst all courses can now be accessed via The FA Boot Room, some of the more popular courses are highlighted below.

COACHING COURSES

Introduction to Coaching Football (Replacing FA Level 1)

The FA Level 1 in Coaching Football course has now been renamed The FA Introduction to Coaching Football and is the perfect online football coaching course for anyone looking to take a more active role in the game. Whether you are currently coaching a team or looking to get into coaching, this course will help you create a safe, fun, and positive football environment.  The course blends live weekly webinars, e-learning, community support and a range of resources to provide you with the skills to coach players of all ages.  

This course costs £160 and can be accessed by clicking here. This course includes both Safeguarding and Emergency Aid modules so there is no need to undertake these separately. For those aged 16-19 there is the opportunity to apply for a bursary which if granted may cover some or all of the course costs full details of which can be found by clicking here

A pre-requisite for The FA Introduction to Coaching Football is you must complete the BT Playmaker by England Football which is a free online course.  This course is also ideal for anyone interested in taking a more active role in football but do not want to undertake the full coaching course and can be accessed by clicking here

The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football

The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football course is being discontinued and will be replaced by the UEFA C Licence, which will launch in 2022. The UEFA C Licence will blend e-learning, mentoring and on-the-pitch development to help you build and shape your own philosophy as a football coach. More updates will become available shortly.

FA Level 3 in Coaching Football (UEFA B)

This course is designed for those coaches who hold an FA Level 2 Qualification and wish to take their coaching to next level.  Access to this course is via a selection process and details of the selection criteria can be found by clicking here.  For more specific support in joining the course please email development@oxfordshirefa.com 

SAFEGUARDING COURSES

The FA Safeguarding for All

This is a free 1 hour introduction to Safeguarding course for those who would like more information on Safeguarding in football and is ideal for parents and those involved in support roles and can be accessed by clicking here.


The FA Safeguarding Children Course

This course is for all those who have an active role in youth football and provides an awareness of best practice in safeguarding children in football.  This is a 2 hour course which costs £30 and can be accessed by clicking here.

The FA Online Safeguarding Re-certification Course

This is a free online course for those whose FA Safeguarding Children qualification has either expired (FA Safeguarding qualification is valid for 3 years) or will expire in the next 6 months and can be accessed by clicking here.

Safeguarding for Committee Members

A free online course which is mandatory for all executive committee members of clubs and leagues and is highly recommended for all committee members.  The course identifies the individual and collective safeguarding responsibilities of anyone involved in running a club or league and supports them in creating a safe environment for children to enjoy football and can be accessed by clicking here.

Welfare Officer Course

This a mandatory course for those who are taking on the important and pivotal role of Club Welfare Officer.  An in-date FA Safeguarding Children qualification (see above) is a pre-requisite for this course which can builds on this training and gives additional guidance on the specific role of Club Welfare Officer. This is a 2-hour virtual classroom course which costs £25 and can be accessed by clicking here

EMERGENCY AID COURSES

Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF)

This 2 hour online course which costs £30 is for anyone who is interested in improving their knowledge of first aid treatment in football or anyone who needs to renew their IFAIF (IFAiF is valid for 3 years) and can be accessed by clicking here.

FA REFEREE COURSE

This course is for anyone interested in refereeing all varieties of football such as traditional 11v11, or mini-soccer.  The course costs £135 and is a mixture of line learning (Safeguarding and Learn the Laws modules) and 11 hours of face-to-face training.  Full details of the content of the course and how to access the course can be found by clicking here

For those aged 14-19 there is the opportunity to apply for a bursary which if granted may cover some or all of the course costs full details of which can be found by clicking here.
