DBS Update - 26 March 2020

The FA has released a statement in regard to the processing of Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks during the suspension of grassroots football.

Please see below for a statement issued by The FA in relation to the processing of DBS checks during the suspension of grassroots football nationally.

The FA is considering the impact of Covid-19 on FA DBS checks taking into account social distancing , self-isolation, the suspension of football activities, the challenges posed by verification of documents, cost to applicants, the NHS volunteer surge and the needs of the care and health sector for additional checks.

Until we are able to communicate fully The FA’s position, we ask no new FA DBS applications (including renewals) be processed until further notice.

This interim position will save all applicants the normal fee until a time when they can get the maximum life out of their individual check. It will also reduce risks to verifiers and applicants.

This position has been communicated to GBG for their helpline staff.

We recognise this will create FAQs but we ask for your patience and we will communicate further shortly.
