Following The FA's announcement today to stop the 2019/20 grassroots season with immediate effect, Oxfordshire FA Chief Executive Officer, Ian Mason, has issued the following statement in relation to the 2019/20 season and Oxfordshire FA County Cup competitions.

With the latest announcement today by The FA to stop the current grassroots season with immediate effect, we have not had time to consider or discuss the outcome of our unfinished County Cup competitions or our support to members.

We are obviously disappointed that it seems that everything stops, which is not what we expected, and I am sure that for the clubs that reached the finals this immediately comes as a shock and there will be many questions that, at this moment, we don’t have answers to.

With the emergency in place and football suspended, then we have time to understand the implications and examine our options. We will then come back to you with any decisions so please bear with us, we do have your interests at heart.
