OFA Talks

Introducing...OFA Team Talk

We are excited to be launching our brand-new feature, OFA Team Talk.

We are delighted to be launching our brand-new feature, OFA Team Talk.

In our new YouTube series, we will be sitting down with guests from around the game in Oxfordshire to shine a spotlight on some of the fantastic work going on across the county. This has been designed so you can listen in the comfort of your own home or while you are out and about.

We will be adding new episodes regularly, which will hopefully give you fascinating insight into different areas of football.

To kick things off, we are pleased to bring you three episodes which can be found below. We hope you enjoy and please like, subscribe and share to your friends and family!

Team Talk #1 Harry Baker
In the first of our Team Talk series, and in celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, our Football Development Manager, Mike Thurlow, sits down with England CP footballer, Golden Boot Winner and Banbury local, Harry Baker. Harry discusses his career so far, overcoming the challenges of disability, David Beckham and inspiring the next generation of players.

Team Talk #2 Wheatley Oaks
In the second of our Team Talk series, our Senior Football Development Officer, James Shiplee, sits down with the county's newest women's team, Wheatley Oaks. Club founders Emma O'Conner and Rebecca Raper talk about life in lockdown and how they successfully created a new club in the middle of a pandemic.

Team Talk #3 Katie Wales & Rob Porter
For the third of our OFA Team Talk series we are joined by QPR Development Phase Coach, Katie Wales, and Oxford United Regional Talent Club Coach, Rob Porter. The pair sit down with our Senior Football Development Officer, James Shiplee, to discuss their coaching journeys, delivery during lockdown, epic scavenger hunts and preparing to get back out onto the pitch.
