Heyford Athletic FC To Unveil Changing Pavilion
Heyford Athletic FC and King George’s Field Community & Sports Centre are excited to be unveiling their refurbished changing pavilion on Sunday 5 May at 10.00am.
This is thanks to a grant from the Premier League through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) – the largest funders of non-league football in the country.
The grant has enabled Heyford Athletic FC, who play at Step 7 in the Oxfordshire Senior League, to extend and refurbish the King George’s Field Community & Sports Centre. The alterations and improvements made to the pavilion have helped to create bigger changing areas, new toilet facilities and an extended bar and community space.
The new facilities will also be used by several community groups including: King George’s Field Committee of Management and Lower Heyford Sports & Social Club. The community space will also be available for residents of the parish and non-residents to hire for meetings and celebrations.
The project was made possible thanks to the support from Oxfordshire FA and a £50,000 grant from the Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), the sister organisation of the Football Foundation.
The FSIF is funded with £6.5m each year from the Premier League. It is the country’s largest provider of grants towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower-league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game. These improvements range from new football stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.
