Oxfordshire FA Holds Awards Evening

Last week saw the Oxfordshire FA hold its annual Awards Evening. As well as presentations, the evening included a speech from The FA Head of National Game, Kelly Simmons MBE, and also had a Prize Draw in which 6 lucky youngsters won the opportunity to be on the Wembley pitch before England’s World Cup Qualifier fixture against Belarus.

The Awards are an opportunity for the Oxfordshire FA to highlight examples of good practice and high standards that have been set, by clubs, teams or individuals, throughout the year. 

Oxfordshire FA were inundated with nominations for each category this year and it showed that there are a great deal of good work improving football in the county.

The winners on the evening are listed below:

  • OFA Young Leader of the Year – George Taylor (Oxford & Cherwell Valley College)
  • OFA Club Administrator of the Year – Dieter Hinke (Henley Football Partnership)
  • OFA Volunteer of the Year – John Hawtin (Enstone Sports & Social Club)
  • Doug Watts Referee of the Year – Sian Piret
  • OFA Groundsman of the Year – Martin Baker (Kidlington FC)
  • OFA Club Coach of the Year – Janet Kidd (Oxford City Casuals)
  • OFA Adult Club of the Year – Launton Ladies FC
  • OFA Club of the Year – Kidlington Youth FC
  • FA Regional Development Club of the Year – Summertown Stars AFC
  • OFA Development Club of the Year – Garden City FC
  • OFA Community Club of the Year – Henley Football Partnership
