County’s Grassroots Heroes Celebrated at Annual Awards
Oxfordshire FA welcomed members of our grassroots football community to Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium on Saturday 29 June, as we marked the end of the 2023-24 season with our annual Grassroots Football Awards ceremony.
The Oxfordshire FA Grassroots Football Awards celebrate and recognise the hard work, dedication, and impact that the coaches, leagues, clubs, volunteers and officials have on local grassroots football.
Winners within Oxfordshire are automatically put forward for consideration at a regional level, with regional winners later put forward for a chance to win a national award, presented at the FA Community Shield fixture at Wembley Stadium on the eve of the new season.
The awards ceremony this year was supporting the Joey Beauchamp Foundation, which was set up earlier this year in memory of Oxford United legend, Joey Beauchamp, and campaigns for the pressing need for mental health support and awareness within communities in Oxfordshire. During the evening, items of memorabilia were auctioned to raise funds for the charity, which is a cause that is very close to all at Oxfordshire FA.
Those in attendance on Saturday evening were also provided with insight into injury prevention through a talk delivered by Power Up to Play, while Oxfordshire FA was also pleased to welcome representatives from our valued sponsors to the ceremony, who were able to learn first-hand about the brilliance of those involved in our local grassroots game.
Congratulations to our 2023-24 winners – and a huge thank you to everyone who nominated a league, club, coach, referee or volunteer for this year’s awards.
All at Oxfordshire FA would also like to thank every single person involved in grassroots football across the county. While our awards celebrate a select few, we value the effort, dedication and input of everyone, who collectively provide opportunities for so many to play, coach, officiate or volunteer within football.
