Groundsman Inspection

Nominations Now Open for Groundsman of the Year 2019

Help ensure volunteer grounds staff across Oxfordshire are recognised for their incredible work.

Does your club’s groundsperson go above and beyond to ensure your pitch is in top condition?

If so, nominate them for this year’s Groundsman of the Year Awards, with nominations now open for clubs at Step 7 (Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division) and below.

Now in their 12th year, the awards were established to recognise the efforts of grounds staff at grassroots level, who volunteer their time to provide the best pitches possible with very few resources available.

The competition is a great way for these volunteers to be recognised at a local and national level, whilst also having the opportunity to meet and talk with professional club grounds staff who conduct the competition’s judging.

The winners of the 2018 Oxfordshire Groundsman of the Year Awards were Marston Saints’ Mark Wilkins and Chinnor Youth Football Club’s John Atkins.

These awards provide a great opportunity to recognise and reward club groundspeople at Step 7 and below throughout Oxfordshire.
