Oxfordshire FA would like to thank Alan Spence for his immeasurable contribution, following his departure from our Board of Directors.

Alan rejoined the Oxfordshire FA Board as an Elected Director in 2022, but has made the decision to step down; although he will thankfully continue to be a member of the Oxfordshire Senior League committee.

Having made a huge contribution to Oxfordshire FA, Alan will be much missed on the Board.

Alan’s association with the game locally started as a coach and manager at Summertown Stars in 1993, and he subsequently went on to become the club’s Secretary, as well as an Oxford Boys’ League committee member and Fixture Secretary.

In the mid-1990s, Alan was elected to what was then the Oxfordshire FA Council. He became Competition Secretary for several of our County Cup competitions, including the Junior Shield, Intermediate Cup, Ladies Cup, and various youth competitions across both boys’ and girls’ cups.

Alan also served as a member of disciplinary commissions, administered the boys’ and girls’ county youth representative side. Most recently, Alan has been a member of our County Cup committee, as well as our Ticket Allocation Group.
