OFA Awards Evening 2017

Friday 30th of June will see volunteers and representatives from leagues, clubs and teams from across the county come together at the Kassam Stadium i

The Awards Evening allows us, as a County FA, to recognise the efforts of the football workforce in Oxfordshire and say 'Thank you' for the continued support you, as volunteers, give to the game week in, week out.

Volunteers, referees coaches and league/club officials will be presented with awards across 13 catergories, having been nominated by peers.

The evening is a celebration of the best of grassroots football in Oxfordshire and we're delighted to announce that our special guest for the evening is Sky Sports pundit, Tony Cottee who will be presenting our winners with their awards.

The former player enjoyed a long career at West Ham, Everton and Leicester as well as seven caps for England and will be talking about his time in the game as well as taking a few questions from the floor.

The13 awards to be given out on the night are:

  • Groundsman of the Year
  • Doug Watts Young Referee of the Year
  • Youth Club Respect Award
  • Adult Club Respect Award
  • League Respect Award
  • Best Inclusive Project
  • Coach of the Year
  • Charter Standard League of the Year
  • Charter Standard Club of the Year
  • Charter Standard Development Club of the Year
  • Charter Standard Community Club of the Year
  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Outstanding Contribution to Grassroots Football

Football Development Officer, James Shiplee said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming so many volunteers from across the county to our Annual Awards Evening. It’s great to be able to reward just some of the priceless volunteers that help to run football in Oxfordshire.”
