Oxfordshire FA are running an over 18's referee course

There is a drastic shortage of adult referees to support the game at all levels and as such Oxfordshire FA is running a course specifically aimed...

So if you have recently hung up your playing boots or you have spare time on a weekend want to support local football (and potentially move on to higher leagues) by becoming a referee then this is the course for you.  Refereeing is a great way to keep fit, continue to be involved in football and to give something back to the game as well as being fun to do!

The course is practically based and will run at Launton Sports FC, Bicester on the dates shown (please note you must attend all dates to complete the course):

Friday 01 Sept                  18.30 - 21.30

Saturday 02 Sept              09.00 - 17.00

Sunday 03 Sept                09.00 - 17.00

In addition you will need an in-date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate and if you don’t currently have this you can attend a workshop on Monday 04 Sept 18.30 -21.30 as part of your course (ie no extra charge).

Also if you intend to do youth football you will need to have an in date FA Criminal Records Checks and details of how to do this will be given on application and is part of the course fee.

Following attendance at the course you will be supported in refereeing a minimum of 5 games within a 3 month period before qualifying as an FA Level 7 Referee.  After this promotion (and more challenging games) will be available to you if you want it.  There is no commitment to the number of games you referee in a season the amount is purely down to you.

The cost of the course is £150 and the candidate receives learning resources, a referee t-shirt, whistle, red / yellow cards and a match record pad.  In addition a match fee (between £20-£30) is usually paid for each of the 5 course games which helps offset the course cost.

For more information of the course programme or to book on the course please click here and if you have any specific questions please email referees@oxfordshirefa.com or call 01993 894404 during office hours.

Remember your game needs you so why not pick up the whistle and help support the game we all love by becoming a REFEREE.
