FA Girls Football Week

The FA Girls’ Football Week returns for 2017 and will coincide with the Lionesses involvement at Euro 2017.

This year’s FA Girls’ Football Week will run between 16th July and 6th August, and we’re encouraging the whole county to get involved and run sessions for girls to join in with the beautiful game during this time.

With a new Women and Girls’ Strategy around the corner, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved, and will help us with our aim of doubling the number of women and girls playing football by 2020.

Over 130,000 girls took part in sessions delivered in schools, universities, colleges, clubs, community groups and other organisations across the country in 2016.

We’re looking for clubs, leagues, community groups, schools, colleges, universities, and more, to get involved during this year’s Girls Football Week and register your sessions online at FAGirlsFootballWeek.com.

Organisations can register their on-going activities as part of the week, or maybe even start something brand new to kick-start girls’ football.

Oxfordshire FA, Football Development Officer, James Shiplee, said: “We’re looking forward to what will hopefully be another successful competition for the Lionesses, and to tie this in with Girls Football Week should see many more girls looking to try out the game, some for the first time.

“I hope to see many clubs and other groups get involved and register their sessions on the Girls Football Week website.”

Once registered you will have access to all of our online resources. If you have any questions, please e-mail Info@FAGirlsFootballWeek.com.
