Oxfordshire FA is delighted to announce tutors for the Annual Coaches Conference on the 4th of June at the Oxford Academy School.
For coaches of all levels who want to learn more and develop their ability, the Coaches Conference provides a perfect opportunity to observe high level coaches, and talk with others about their experiences.
This year’s conference will be themed around Developing Creative Players, showcasing the techniques and methods coaches can use to create players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet and have the ability to make decisions quickly.
We are delighted to announce the first tutor of this year’s conference:
KELVIN ALEXIS & CHRIS HACKETT
Under 15s Coaches
Kelvin is a UEFA A and FA Youth Award Coach who has been at Oxford United for 17 years as a coach. During that time he has coached from Under 9-16s and has a wealth of experience. During his playing time Kelvin played for Oxford United as a youth player and a semi-professional for Oxford City and Abingdon Town.
Chris is a former Oxford United Academy graduate with over 100 appearances for the first team, as well as playing for Millwall and Northampton. As a UEFA B coach with FA Youth Award Module 3, Chris coaches alongside Kelvin with this season’s Under 15s.
Kelvin and Chris’ session will look at a whole-part-whole session with a focus on disguising passes, receiving in pockets of space, breaking lines and 1v1 dribbling skills.
Huw is responsible for managing the Fulham FC academy up to Under 21s. The academy is one of the few in the country to be awarded Category 1 status in the EPPP guidelines. Huw has a rich history of being involved in youth football in professional environments, having worked with the Premier League as a Youth Development Manager, and Southampton FC as Academy Director.
Huw's session will look at playing out from the back using a midfield rotation. Coaches will be required to take part in the practical delivery of this session.
