'Super' Summer League is a Success

Oxfordshire FA Women’s Summer League finishes on a high, by crowning Kidlington Ladies champions for the third consecutive year.

Our Women’s Summer League took play on a Monday evening throughout June, July and August, and saw 12 teams enter with over 200 women taking part. The league also welcomed a brand new team, Zubry Oxford Ladies, who experienced their first game of competitive football as a team.

Through gathering feedback, there was an overwhelming response of how fun and competitive the league was and also, how the players enjoyed the social aspect of playing in the league. The success of the league was also highlighted by the fact that over 80% of players stated that the running and organisation of the league was excellent.

Kimberley Connor, Football Development Administrator at Oxfordshire FA, said: “I am delighted that the league was so successful and it was equally great to see so many women participating in football in Oxfordshire. The league offers a fantastic opportunity for players to come together throughout the summer months and play football in a friendly and social environment week-in, week-out.

"We would like to thank everybody who participated in the league this year and give a massive congratulations to Kidlington Ladies, for winning the league for the third year running."
