Funding streams into Oxfordshire Football

12:46 PM, Tuesday, 31 August 10. Funding

During season 09/10 Oxfordshire FA supported and oversaw over £3.5 million of football funding investment in Oxfordshire, assisting the growth and development of grassroots football in the county.

Funding applications submitted were for a variety of development objectives including facility improvements, new kit/equipment, goalposts and starting new teams.

The four funding pots that provided the largest investment into Oxfordshire are listed below (please note that some of these schemes have now closed):

  • Over £3.3 million was invested through facility improvement projects and the Football Foundation "Build the Game" scheme
  • £47,500 was invested through the "Grow the Game" scheme, helping clubs to create new teams
  • £30,000 received by clubs through the "Goalpost Safety" scheme, enabling clubs to purchase new goals
  • £19,000 towards new kit/equipment for clubs and schools in the county through the "Junior Kit Scheme"

To provide further support to clubs and organisations, Oxfordshire FA have developed an extensive funding guide to outline all of the local, regional and national opportunities to access development.  This "OFA Grantfinder" document can be found in related documents at the right side of this page.  As well as objectives listed above the Grantfinder also includes funding opportunities for talented player bursaries, coach education bursaries and projects that will help the local area.

During the 2010/11 season, Oxfordshire FA will continue to be committed to supporting clubs, schools and organisations to bring more investment into the game. If you would like some support with an application or more information on funding please contact Andy Earnshaw, County Development Manager, on Andrew.Earnshaw@OxfordshireFA.com or 01993 778371.
