The scheme aims to support clubs to develop new teams by awarding funding to cover the costs associated with the work. Grants of £2,500, 1 new team, or £5,000, 2 or more new teams, are available and partnership contributions are not required.
Chadlington, Slade Farm United and Crowmarsh Youth Football Clubs were all successful in the scheme's maiden window accessing a total of £12,500 to create 5 new teams at their clubs.
Dates for the second window and clubs looking to develop new teams for the 2010/11 season are as follows:
- Open for applications: 1 February 2010
- Close for applications: 26 February 2010
- Written notification of any decision received in May 2010
The third window will open in the later part of 2010.
