Clubs awarded cash to create new teams

11:13 AM, Tuesday, 22 December 09. Funding

Oxfordshire Football Clubs have been awarded thousands of pounds, from the Football Foundation Grow the Game Scheme, to help start new teams for the 2010/11 season.  Crowmarsh Youth FC and Chadlington FC have been awarded £5000 to start two new teams and Slade Farm FC have £2500 to create a new Under 16 team.

The Grow the Game scheme aims to support clubs to develop new teams by awarding funding to cover the costs associated with the work. Grants of £2,500, 1 new team, or £5,000, 2 or more new teams, are available and partnership contributions are not required.

Dates for the second window and clubs looking to develop new teams for the 2010/11 season are as follows:

  • Open for applications: 1 February 2010
  • Close for applications: 26 February 2010
  • Written notification of any decision received in May 2010

Oxfordshire FA are now arranging January meeting with clubs looking to create new teams so that applications can be submitted in the February window.
