Welfare Officers are a must!

11:25 GMT, Wednesday, 28 May 08. Safeguarding

As part of the new FA Regulations for the coming season, clubs with youth teams must nominate a Club Welfare Officer

The time for the policy of every club and league with youth teams having a welfare officer in order to affiliate for the 2008/2009 season is upon us! Many of you we know, have already got the majority of your clubs and leagues on board, but there are still those yet to act.

Clubs and leagues with youth teams simply need to identify one person who is willing to become the welfare officer and has as a minimum submitted their paperwork to The FA CRB Unit, who are prepared for an influx of applications and able to turn these around effectively during the affiliation period. The training for this role comes later however we are aware some CFA’s have rolled this training out already. For details of local Safeguarding and Welfare Officer Workshops click here
