Referee Respect Training

Oxfordshire FA is fully committed to the Respect programme and as such all of the Counties affiliated leagues have committed to the programme and as such will be initiating a number of initiatives to support the programme which will ultimately lead to an increase in the number of referees and a safe and enjoyable football experience for everyone.

One of the requirements of the Respect programme for leagues is that all referees operating on their league must undertake Respect training.  From next season the Witney & District Youth League will only appoint referees who have undertaken Respect training and it is anticipated that other leagues may follow suit in the near future.
In light of this the Referee Training Team have already run 6  Referee Respect Workshops in 2010 and will run others which  will be displayed here when more dates are kown

It is crucial that all Oxfordshire referees undertake this training as this is a “whole game” initiative and one of the main focuses of the Respect programmes is to reduce the abuse that is directed towards referees.  This training will give referees the tools to deal with such incidents. All referees appear to be in agreement that the Respect programme is making a positive difference and hence the training is another facet of the programme.

Remember failure to attend a workshop could see your future refereeing opportunities restricted.
