Oxfordshire FA - developing football for everyone
Get Into Football

Parents

Parents play a crucial part in supporting the involvement of their children with football.

The FA aims to help parents play a positive role, recognising that involement in football can greatly influence the development of children, both in the football envirnment and in their overall lifestyles.

The FA has launched a new free Respect online parent guide - a replacement for Soccer Parent. This provides a great introduction in how adults should behave to support children in the game.

The online module features content to showcase unacceptable parental behaviour and its consequences on young players with commentary from well-known and grassroots football figures, including Stuart Pearce and Howard Webb.

The course is FREE and all you have to do is register with FA Learning to gain access so why not get online and get involved today.

The course offers practical advice, hints and tips on what it takes to be a supportive soccer parent and how to positively influence young players.

As well as being designed to be informative, fun and engaging, one of the key aspects of the module is that coaches are given advice to assist in gaining positive contributions from parents as well as understanding issues on specific areas such as child welfare and attitudes.
