FA Introduction to Age Appropriate Coaching
If you want to work with young players then a good place to start is with the FA Introduction to Age Appropriate Coaching. This is a six hour course aimed at those working with young players who want to improve their knowledge and understanding of the ‘what’ and ‘how’ to coach players of this age.
This course will give candidates the most up to date coaching tools in working with arguably the most important age group within football. The course will cover theory and practical elements allowing participants to get out of the classroom and have a go for themselves.

1st4Sport FA Level 1 Award in Coaching Football
If you want a more detailed introduction to coaching then The FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football will be more suitable.
This 30 hour course uses a mixture of practical and theory sessions to explore the more technical aspects of coaching football as well as the ‘what’ and ‘how’ to coach.
The knowledge gained will enable candidates to develop a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective coaching for players covering a number of topics including:
• Warm up and cool down practices
• Passing, dribbling and turning
• Heading and shooting
• Attacking as an individual
• Laws of the game
• Long Term Player Development
This popular entry into coaching has recently been updated with the latest coaching techniques and introduces a range of new games and practices.
The course also includes the FA Safeguarding Children and FA Emergency Aid certificated workshops.
