Charter Standard Leagues

The objective of Charter Standard Leagues is to develop a comprehensive and efficient league structure across the country that provides a positive environment from mini–soccer, youth football, adult and vets football to meet the needs of all recreational football players.

If a league achieves Charter Standard Status it will show that it is offering players in grassroots football a high quality, safe, enjoyable experience that is nationally recognised.

By achieving Charter Standard status, a league will:

• Gain recognition that it is committed to a quality experience for all

• Gain recognition as a well run league
• Have procedures in place to improve standards of behaviour
• Demonstrate a commitment to investing in its workforce
• Have a clear development plan in place
• Have an agreed support package with the CFA
• Will be perceived more favourably by its member clubs.

Benefits of your league achieving Charter Standard include:

• Support from County FA staff, to include initial briefing and quarterly support meetings
• FA guidance resources
• Networking opportunities
• 1 Free Enhanced CRB check and 3 places (one on each workshop) for Safeguarding, Welfare Officer and Equality workshops
• Opportunities to develop more referees, coaches, and administrators through partnering the CFA and being prioritised by County Staff
• Membership logo, certificate and plaque
• Enhanced County FA support, to include a support visit and annual health check
• 2 free CRB Enhanced CRB check and 3 free places (one on each workshop) for Safeguarding, Welfare Officer and Equality workshops
• 3 free FA/CFA training workshops per season

• Access to free tickets for England women’s & youth internationals
